The UTM established in the year 2000, has four schools; the School of Business, Management and Finance (SBMF), the School of Sustainable Development and Tourism (SSDT), the School of Innovative Technologies and Engineering (SITE) and the School of Health Sciences (SHS) and currently has a student population of 3700.
The University offers a range of comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes in a range of emerging fields including Emerging Technologies, Blockchain Technologies,Tourism and AI, Health Services and Social Care, Social Work, amongst others. Programmes and regulations are regularly updated to reflect worldwide trends and mapped against the ECTS.
Dr D Hurreeram took over the helm of the UTM in June 2022. His priority is to transform the University of Technology, Mauritius into a centre of excellence for targeted academic programmes, research and consultancy activities with focus on the needs of the economic sectors and the community.
