BUSINESSMAG. Tell us about Sebastian Denton and Adamas?

Adamas Ltd is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and we are a specialist in duty- free retail of diamonds, gold jewelry set with diamonds and/ or precious stones, pearls, silver jewelry (some set with diamonds or pearls), steel, titanium and tungsten jewelry for men, as well as many brands of watches, such as Girard Perregaux, Franck Muller, Panerai, Ulysse Nardin, Maurice Lacroix, Oris, Movado, Calvin Klein, GC, Guess, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfinger, Pierre Cardin and Nautica.

We also are the exclusive representatives of Mont Blanc products in the local market and we carry the full Mont Blanc range in all of our shops, such as their watches, belts, small leather goods and briefcases, cufflinks and other jewelry, and of course their world famous pens.

We have four shops around the island located at Cascavelle, Dias Pier, Mangalkhan and Richmond Hill, which are open to the general public as well as tourists. We are not a duty-free only or tourist only retail outlet. Any local resident can purchase any items in our shop upon payment of VAT and we are launching a special fidelity program this year to commemorate our 25 years, which will entitle any local resident that sign up to this program to receive additional discounts, separate to all the existing discount programs we run with all major local banks’ credit and debit card benefits programs.

Adamas also offers made to measure services for jewelry, where any possible design that a potential customer wants can be personally made for them, as per their requests and specifications, with assistance from specially trained sales staff and jewelers. We also offer a personalized sourcing service through our international network, where any pearl or stone (precious, diamond, semi-precious or otherwise) that any customer could want can be located for them, either for such a custom piece of jewelry or even if the customer only wants the stone or pearl.

BUSINESSMAG. And what about fashion?

At the office, during regular working days: usually a longsleeve shirt and formal pants, no tie, sometimes a blue blazer. For events or overseas work meetings: either a two-button or three-button two-piece suit, with shirt and tie of course, or otherwise a blue blazer with beige, or gray formal pants, also with shirt and tie of course.

On the weekend, usually ‘bermuda et polo’, with either ‘sebago’ style slip-on leather or suede shoes, or flip-flops. For evenings on weekend, casual long-sleeve shirt and pants, either regular cotton or linen, with same ‘sebago’ style slip on leather or suede shoes, or more formal leather slip on shoes.

Formal Wear: Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Karl Kaiser, Cerruti, Arrow, Café Cotton, Ralph Lauren.

Smart Casual: Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Harris Wilson, Arrow, River Woods.

Casual: Gap, Old Navy, Habit, Volcom, American Eagle, Aca Joe, Truworths and generic retailers such as Marks & Spencer’s and Woolworths.
