Market ends week slightly down

The SEM-ASI lost -0.08% while the SEMTRI-ASI was almost the same at the end of the days under review (21 – 28 November 2016).u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003eu003cpu003eThe all-share index, SEM-ASI, ended the session of Monday 28u003csupu003ethu003c/supu003e November 2016 at 1,853.08 points, losing 1.57 point during the week. The Total Return Index, SEMTRI-ASI, ended the same day at 6,363.73 points. The SEMDEX and The Total Return Index, SEMTRI, ended last Mondayu0026rsquo;s session at 1,804.44 points and 6,261.80 points respectively. The SEM-10 Index, which comprises the ten largest and most liquid stocks, closed at 343.81 points. The SEM sustainability index, SEMSI, ended at 99.87 points. The total market capitalisation of the SEM-ASI constituents stood at Rs 337.17 billion at market close on Monday.u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eTotal transactions amounted to Rs 265.4 million during the week. The top five trading securities were: MCB Group Ltd (MCBG), SBM Holdings Ltd (SBMH), MCB Group Notes (MCBG Notes), Alteo Ltd and Lux Island Resorts Ltd. They were exchanged for a total value of Rs 132 million, Rs 40.3 million, Rs 15.6 million, Rs 13.9 million and Rs 10.3 million respectively. The shares of MCBG, SBMH, MCBG Notes, Alteo and Lux closed at Rs 214.00, Rs 6.90, Rs 1,030.48, Rs 27.40 and Rs 58.75 respectively on Monday 28u003csupu003ethu003c/supu003e November 2016.u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eAn analysis of the evolution of the prices of listed stocks indicates that out of the 64 stocks figuring on the Official List, 8 moved up during the week, 35 remained stable and 21 went down.
