u003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eThe local stock market posted gains during the weeku003c/strongu003eu003cstrongu003e.u003c/strongu003eu003cstrongu003eThe SEM-ASI and the SEMTRI-ASI gained 1.08% respectively at the end of the days under review (14 – 21 November 2016).u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003eu003cpu003eThe Total Return Index, SEMTRI-ASI, registered a gain of 67.69 points in one week, closing the session of Monday 21u003csupu003estu003c/supu003e November 2016 at 6,363.32 points. The all-share index, SEM-ASI, ended the same session at 1,854.65 points, gaining 19.73 points in one week. The SEMDEX and the Total Return Index, SEMTRI, ended the session of Monday at 1,814.26 points and 6,286.87 points respectively. The SEM-10 Index, which comprises the ten largest and most liquid stocks, closed at 345.86 points. The SEM sustainability index, SEMSI, ended the same day at 99.99 points. The total market capitalisation of the SEM-ASI constituents stood at Rs 337.46 billion at market close on Monday.u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eTotal transactions amounted to Rs 217.4 million during the week. The top five trading securities were: MCB Group Ltd (MCBG), Rogers u0026amp; Co. Ltd (ROGE), SBM Holdings Ltd (SBMH), MCB Group Notes (MCBG Notes) and IBL Ltd (IBL). They were exchanged for a total value of Rs 101.8 million, Rs 28.5 million, Rs 23.8 million, Rs 6 million and Rs 5.9 million respectively. The shares of MCBG, ROGE, SBMH, MCBG Notes and IBL closed at Rs 214.50, Rs 26.25, Rs 6.90, Rs 1,023.32 and Rs 30.15 respectively on Monday 21u003csupu003estu003c/supu003e November 2016.u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eAn analysis of the evolution of the prices of listed stocks indicates that out of the 64 stocks figuring on the Official List, 18 moved up during the week, 38 remained stable and 8 went down. The best performing stocks for the week were: Greenbay Properties Ltd (11.11%), Belle Mare Holding Ltd (+10.91%), Lottotech Ltd (5.26%), CIEL Limited (+3.30%) and Air Mauritius Ltd (+3.19%).
