Market witnesses heavy trading during the week

A total volume of 165.96 million shares, amounting to nearly Rs 400 million, were exchanged on the Official market.u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003eu003cpu003e83% of the Rs 400 million traded during the week was done on MCB Group Limited (MCBG), SBM Holdings Ltd (SBMH), CIM Financial Services Ltd (CIM), Rogers u0026amp; Co. Ltd and New Mauritius Hotels Ltd (NMHL). They were exchanged for a total value of Rs 157.1 million, Rs 140.9 million, Rs 13.7 million, Rs 10.9 million and Rs 9.7 million. The shares of MCBG, SBMH, CIM, ROGE and NMHL closed at Rs 198.00, Re 0.90, Rs 8.98, Rs 29.20 and Rs 61.00 on Monday 27u003csupu003ethu003c/supu003e April 2015.u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eAt the level of market indices, the All-share index, SEMDEX, closed the session of Monday 27u003csupu003ethu003c/supu003e April 2015 at 1,936.45 points, losing 0.44% during the week. The Total Return Index, SEMTRI, ended the same session at 6,364.44 points, registering a fall of 28.13 points in one week. The SEM-10 index, which comprises the ten largest and most liquid stocks, closed at 366.78 points. The market capitalisation stood at Rs 215.29 billion at market close on Monday.u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eAn analysis of the evolution of the prices of listed stocks indicates that out of the 52 stocks figuring on the Official List, 8 moved up during the week, 33 remained stable and 11 went down.
