FOUNDED on the 27th of April, 2020, Upclothr Ltd is specialized in textile design and production. The company manufactures and distributes t-shirts, sweats, hoodies, baby clothes, Tote bags, posters as well as postcards. They sell their items to local customers and tourists under the brand name ‘The Kreol Republic’ and they also produce corporate items for several companies.
The Kreol Republic is an upcycled clothing brand created in 2018 by the initiative of people passionate about fashion and contemporary culture. The main idea is to showcase Mauritius by gathering around its culture with a touch of humor and a strong graphic design.
Their collections are 100% designed and produced in Mauritius and are made of upcycled materials for men, women, children as well as babies.
The products are part of an ethical and ecoresponsible approach, that is, short circuit with a local production ensured by a qualitative know-how of several sewing workshops of the island; recycling of the surplus raw materials produced by major international brands, for most of them weaving is done by Mauritian workshops; and use of recycled paper on which are printed locally our packaging, posters, and so on. The Kreol Republic aims towards 0 plastic and 0 textile waste.
