‘Golf Destination of the Year-Africa and Gulf States’ pour la deuxième fois à l’Ile Maurice

2015 est définitivement une année exceptionnelle pour le golf mauricien. Le dernier évènement qui vient le confirmer est le prix de ‘Golf Destination of the Year-Africa and Gulf States’, raflée par la destination golfique mauricienne, le 8 octobre dernier, lors de la 16^e édition annuelle de l’IAGTO Awards Ceremony’. Elle succède à la destination golfique marocaine qui s’était vu décerner ce prix en 2015.

Pour le golf mauricien, c’est la deuxième consécration en provenance du ‘global trade organisation of the golf tourism industry’ pour la région Afrique et Moyen-Orient. L’île Maurice avait obtenu sa première récompense dans cette catégorie en 2008.

En 2013, l’IAGTO décrivait notre île, dans son ‘Golf Tourism Report’, comme un «stellar performer» dans le tourisme golfique pour la région de l’océan Indien et du sous-continent indien. Dans un communiqué de presse de l’IAGTO sur le ‘Golf Destination of the Year-Africa and Gulf States’ octroyé à l’île Maurice, Michael Geerdharry, président de la Mauritius Golf Tourism Association (MGTA), soutient : “Everybody involved in the golf tourism industry in Mauritius is very honoured that the island has been named Golf Destination of the Year for Africa, the Gulf States and the Indian Ocean. To have won this prestigious accolade, which is voted for by tour operators, is very gratifying and shows that our hard work is paying off.”
