Market ends slightly down

The local market was marked by a slight fall in indices during the week. The SEMDEX and the SEMTRI dropped -0.10% and -0.09% respectively at the end of the days under review (8-15 June 2015).
The Total Return Index, SEMTRI, lost 6.09 points during the week, closing the session of Monday 15th June 2015 at 6,513.69 points. The All-share index, SEMDEX, ended the same session at 1,972.76 points against 1,974.65 points last week. The SEM-10 index, which comprises the ten largest and most liquid stocks, closed at 375.62 points. The market capitalisation stood Rs 219.33 billion at market close on Monday.
Total transactions amounted to Rs 208.2 million during the week. The top five traded securities were: MCB Group Limited (MCBG), SBM Holdings Ltd (SBMH), LUX* Island Resorts Ltd, Terra Mauricia Ltd (TERA) and MCB Notes. They were exchanged for a total value of Rs 85.1 million, Rs 70.2 million, Rs 8.3 million, Rs 5.2 million and Rs 4.8 million. The shares of MCBG, SBMH, LUX*, TERA and MCB Notes closed at Rs 208.50, Re 0.94, Rs 61.75, Rs 32.50 and Rs 1,034.56 on Monday 15th June 2015.
